DCWV on Hochanda TV

Hi crafters

Just a quick post to let you know that Sarah Hurley will be on Hochanda TV at 8pm this evening, and 9am, 12noon, 4pm and 7pm tomorrow, to show you some of the fabulous Project Stacks from DCWV.

Here are some of the projects I have made so far using these wonderful items.

The floral wreath, bunting and pinwheels have been made following the instructions from the various Project Stacks. The two cards have been made using some of the gorgeous papers from various Stacks.

Nasturtiums Galore

Hi crafters

I thought I would share with you some of the samples I made for one of John Lockwood's recent shows on Hochanda TV.

As soon as I saw John's new Nasturtium designs I couldn't wait to use them.

These cards all use the Nasturtium Elements clear stamp set from Creative Expressions. The first design was coloured in using Comic Shimmer Watercolour Paints.

I thought that this card looked like the flowers had been made from satin with gold embroidery thread stitched onto them. This was achieved by stamping several flower heads onto white vellum with clear Perfect Medium and then heat embossing with Cosmic Shimmer Brilliant Sparkle Gold embossing powder.

The flower heads were then cut out and tinted using Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour Paints.

Finally, a clean and simple style using the same Nasturtium flower heads, with the Butterfly stamp from John's Summers Child clear stamp set. The sentiment comes from the Larkspur Elements stamp set.

Die Cutting Essentials - free gift!

Hi crafters

Have you got your hands on the free die which comes with Die Cutting Essentials magazine issue 12 - in the shops now!

This Gift Bag is one of the items I made for the feature, using the pretty die designed by Sue Wilson, for Creative Expressions.

The papers come from the beautiful Craft Consortium English Garden paper pad.

Sue Wilson has some very elegant card designs in the magazine, as do Julia Watts and John Lockwood, so make sure you check out the magazine.

This was my card design for the magazine.

I combined the free die with a selection of existing die sets from Creative Expressions, also designed by Sue Wilson, to make this card.

Thank You for your patience!

Hi crafters

It's been a while since I posted on here so "Thank You" for your patience!

This card was made using one of the That Special Touch Masks called Dainty Daisy. You can choose which way round to use the mask, to have the design facing to the left or the right.

I started by tracing around the mask with a fine line black pen. I then Zentangled into each of the shapes. Zen Tangle is intended to be relaxing and I really enjoyed doing this. You can make up your own doodles or there are books available and "tangles" you can also look up online. You don't have to just use black, but I like how striking the black and white look together.
